Karen YoungTextile Artist City and Guilds of London Institute Member of the Embroiderers’ Guild Taken part in a number of solo and group exhibitions across the country. I have lived on the Somerset Levels since 1986 and the constant image of the pollarded willow and wetlands has been a major influence and inspiration for my work. I am currently exploring other landscapes and images in poetry in a both a representational and abstract way. As an unashamed Romantic, I strive to translate the linguistic licence afforded to poets into impressions of beautiful places. In my work I use a wide range of my own dyed fabrics, papers and photographs with a variety of machine and hand stitching.
