Vera SheafTrained as a painter at Reading University obtaining B.A.[Fine Art] 1st. After many fallow years where my focus was on bringing up my family abroad and working in education I began printmaking. Now working as a Painter-Printmaker and find the two disciplines complement each other. Was a student member of Printmakers Council exhibiting in London and Eastern England. Also was a member of Poole Printmakers exhibiting in Dorset and New York in an exchange with Manhattan Graphics. Now living in Somerset I am exploring further etching techniques at Dove Studio with Bronwen Bradshaw. I am a member of Fingerprint and Somerset Printmakers exhibiting at Sherborne House and Salisbury Playhouse. I am a member of Artists 303 and exhibit with them regularly at the Atkinson Gallery, Millfield Rook Lane Chapel, Frome and smaller venues such as the Meetimg House Arts Centre, Ilminster and East Lambrook Manor. I am also a member of Bruton Art Society, Sherborne Art Club and a friend of the RWA. In SAW 2000 I opened my studio in Templecombe. My work has also been selected for Open Exhibitions at the RWA, the Black Swan,Frome,the Atkinson Gallery, Millfield ,Lyme Regis and Bridport. I had a solo exhibition at the Art Centre in South Street Yeovil two years ago and have just had a solo show of recent work at the Cafe Gallery at the Octagon. Last month I took part in 1707 an Inspiration at Rook Lane Chapel in Frome. |
