Sue LuxtonSue is known for her images of people drawn quickly and unobserved. However, she has recently become a frequent visitor to Cornwall, which has rekindled a desire to paint landscape. All her paintings are in oil on canvas with the paint applied thickly. Creating a broken surface allowing layers of colour to break through. Her images in paint and print are vigorous and life affirming, striving to find the perfect balance between shape and colour. She exhibits mainly in the South of England, is a founder member of Somerset Art Week and a regular exhibitor at the Royal West of England Autumn exhibition in Bristol. Sue has a degree in Illustration, is a qualified teacher and combines her professional life as a painter with teaching adults. She also runs a life drawing class near her studio on the Somerset Levels. |
