B.A. HONS FINE ART
I graduated from West Surrey College of Art and Design with a B.A. Honours Degree in Fine Art in 1993 and have been teaching on Adult Education and in workshops at my studio for the past thirteen years as well as exhibiting in galleries both in London and the Provinces. I recently moved to Somerset where I am continuing with my teaching and exhibiting, both individually and with Group 93 – WSCAD Graduates.
MY WORK
My work aspires to offer objects of silence and meditation, which balance forms and images of inner sanctuaries against outer turmoil.
The ancient quality of stone is a timeless territory and the work of carving beneath its surface is in itself a discovery of an untouched and silent place.
In two dimensions, images of squares and vessels are safe places for the eye to rest.
The sculpture and paintings all intend to give a visual sense of balance, calm and safety.
